PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The NIMPA Holiday Bootcamp is a holiday program for children and teens of ages between 6-17
Years.
The program runs in the months of April, August and December.
Over the years, NIMPA has successfully hosted over 10 Bootcamps with a myriad of activities that
are both indoor and outdoor.
We are pride ourselves in offering our children unique and memorable experiences every season
through various activities such as Kidventure trips to places as Akili Kids, Bomas of Kenya and the
phenomenal KidsCon at the Junction Mall.
COURSE CONTENT
- Social Skill: Delivered by a mental expert once per year. Through a political campaign and electoral process, participants elect a Bootcamp President, teaching the children valuable lessons about handling victories and defeats.
- Photography: Acquire knowledge on fundamental camera handling methods, taking nature and portrait shots.
- Music Performance: Acquire skills in stage presence and voice.
- Fine Arts: Draw a variety of interesting objects to produce the content for their portfolios.
- Instruments: Instruments on offer include drum set, Guitar, Violin, Piano, Brigade band. Learn to play the instruments using basic children’s songs and also to bring their group composition to life.
- Dance & Choreography: Practice and become proficient in various dance skills under the guidance of a dance Tutor.
- Indoor & Outdoor Gaming Session: This is done in conjunction with a partner institution. Games include Chess, Jenga, Football, Volleyball, Rope skipping, Holla Hoop, Short Runs.
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the course, the learners should be able to:
- Take creative photographs by applying basic camera settings.
- Play an instrument of choice.
- Perform in an ensemble and band.
- Socially express him/herself confidently.
- Act in a film and/or a stage play.
